It is unbelievable but I am already on my way back home. Where has the time gone????? Right now I am sitting at Singapore Airport after the first part coming from Auckland and waiting for the next part back to Frankfurt. The airport is really nice. They even offer city tours free of charge. I did it and it was great to do something different inbetween the flights.
Well, the last days in New Zealand were great! Pahia is quite different place to Omapere on the west coast. Over there it was quiet and only a few people around. Arriving in Pahia changed that completely. It is where the cruise ships stop and in general all tourist pass by. Lots of people and a very busy town centre. The beach also was buzzing with people. But all in a nice way.
My accomodation was luckily a bit above from all this, so it was nice and quiet.
The next day after arriving I went on a tour round the islands on a catamaran. That was great fun! We stopped at on island, went for a walk and had a picknick. Nice people with the tour. Mainly from the US because they came from the cruise ship that was there that day. I have to admit, I wasn’t too sorry that the sky was mostly cloudy. On the boat was no shade at all.
Well and then the next day it was actually raining. The first time during my stay. So instead of visiting Russell, the oldest village there, I drove slowly towards Auckland as the weather there was much better. I passed a small beach and spend some time there before it was really time to head to the airport.
All in all it was a great holiday and I am really hoping that I will have a chance to come back and meet all the lovely people again.
